AI Specialist, Co-Founder & Innovator

Finding AI solutions to complex problems, one line of code at a time.

Welcome to Dataframe. Ben Selleslagh, founder, tech investor, and AI specialist. Leveraging advanced analytics and AI, Ben drives innovation and success for his projects.

I'm Ben Selleslagh, a 36-year-old technologist, entrepreneur, and AI enthusiast based in Antwerp, Belgium. My passion lies at the intersection of innovative technology and practical business applications, particularly in how AI can transform traditional industries.

When I'm not building my company, you'll find me speaking at tech conferences about large language models and their real-world applications. I believe in sharing knowledge and regularly engage with the AI community to explore emerging developments and their potential impact.

My Technical Journey

My love affair with technology began about a decade ago when I discovered Python while tackling challenges in my data projects. What started as solving practical problems evolved into a genuine passion—I taught myself by creating scripts that made my work more efficient, gradually falling deeper into the world of data and AI.

This self-driven exploration has led me to develop several open-source projects that reflect my interests.

My career path has been guided by curiosity rather than convention. I started at KBC bank as a data engineer before moving into consulting for finance and government sectors. Later, as a freelance consultant at Mediahuis, I worked on customer data projects that expanded my understanding of how information architecture shapes business outcomes.

The Entrepreneurial Chapter

In late 2020, I encountered OpenAI's GPT-3 and became fascinated by its potential. I spent countless hours developing test scripts and giving presentations about how this technology could transform businesses. When ChatGPT emerged shortly after, I knew I wanted to be part of this technological revolution.

Today, I’m a Co-Founder at Vectrix, where we've developed an AI solution that integrates with existing email workflows. Our system categorizes emails in Outlook, learns from user adjustments, and automates appropriate actions—from routing inquiries to extracting order details directly into ERP systems.

Open Source Contributions

Beyond my entrepreneurial endeavors, I'm an active contributor to the open source community. My GitHub projects reflect my interests in automation, document processing, and AI-driven content generation. These tools primarily focus on solving practical problems I've encountered in business environments.

My open source work emphasizes clean code architecture, modern Python practices, and developer-friendly documentation. I leverage technologies like FastAPI, Docker, and AI models to create accessible solutions that others can build upon.

Contributing to open source allows me to explore emerging technologies while giving back to the developer community that has been instrumental in my own learning journey. It's a space where I can experiment with concepts that might later influence our approach at Vectrix.
